Just finished 3 months in SE Asia. This book was super helpful and honestly really up to date. It allowed us a good jumping off point to find sites we shouldn't miss and hangouts worth checking out. It seemed to be the most helpful with hostel, site, and restaurant reviews. (Although hostel prices were a bit off - probably because they are so variable per season). The only down size was it's size! It is huge and pretty heavy. Not ideal to lug around. If you are looking for more cool travel tips on top of this book you can check out my YouTube channel. Great book! Lots of good information about the where to stay and what to do while you're there. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it also covers a good bit about the culture and history of each province. Seeing as I have yet to travel the world this book has invaluable information I can use to be a responsible and polite visitor!
This book has a ton of detail about all of countries of SE Asia. I can’t wait for our trip and feel like now I’m armed with plenty of data to get around.
I am afraid I am comparing it to Rick Steves' guides and it comes up short. Things were not so story book sequential that I prefer and I could not discover many places mentioned in the guide. The maps, especially for Singapore were very helpful.
The book seems like it'll have a lot of great info and I can't wait to read it to plan a trip to Asia but I'm a little annoyed that I spent $20 on a book that arrived damaged. I'm not going to bother for a refund or an exchange but several pages were already bent and I think for that price, it's just frustrating

A good Travel guide and very good to read and get inspiration for what to do.Have used this book for a number of years and this is the third or forth time I get a new edition, just to stay up to date.Well worth the money.
